The tip on Shidas Lane in Oldbury is open every day 8am – 4pm except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and non gamstop casino New Year’s Day. As of 2 January 2024 changes to DIY waste are being implemented. Bookings are limited to monitor and identify commercial waste. Arriving significantly earlier or later than your booked appointment may result in us being unable to guarantee entry. Where possible please take waste to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre. We monitor visits to ensure fair use of the service.
You can book your appointment slot up to 4 days before your scheduled departure or sign up on arrival at the airport (Depending on availability)3. If you use Prebook Security, we are unable to guarantee the time it will take to undertake security checks through the Airport Security area. You can pre-book this service from 4 days before your arrival, right up until 60 minutes before you arrive at security (subject to availability). You will need a booking to visit the site.

If mixed waste and recycling is brought to the site this is limited to four visits per 28 days; for garden waste only, up to 6 visits per 28 days. If you are booked into the final slot of the day at 3.50pm, you must arrive before 3.55pm to allow for site closure.

Because of that, it’s worth scheduling your Weekend Happy Hour soon after the time slots are released. Our Weekend Happy Hours will usually be on Sunday daytimes. If the Session is on a weekend or bank holiday, we’ll look at your half hourly usage over the last 4 weekend days. Instead of all powering up at peak times, it helps if we can be more flexible and shift our mindset to make the most of greener, cheaper times.
Things to note before booking
You do not need to book if you’re only visiting the Reuse shop at Avonmouth or Hartcliffe Way. When booking you will need to select ‘I am using a hire vehicle’ option. We may check bags to prevent recyclable materials from going to waste.

We’ll send your booking information to that email address. You’ll need the email address that was used to make the booking. Your booking reference will be provided during the call. If you do not have an email address, please call our HWRC team to make a booking. If you need assistance on site due to a protected characteristic, please indicate this on the booking form.
Check if you will need a free permit before you travel to a waste and recycling centre. Other vehicle types are not allowed to enter a waste and recycling centre at all. Before you book, check if there are items you can recycle at home. We reserve the right to cancel any multiple bookings made in a 7 day period.
